How Jadon Sancho’s statistics compare to that of Manchester United’s current players.
Jadon Sancho’s move to Old Trafford is even getting more closer. It is clearly evident by now, and this transfer adventure just requires the final seal to confirm its completion.
German newspaper Ruhr Nachrichten last night was the latest publication to talk up the open-ended deal as almost done.
So in respect of the transfer itself, there is not too much left to say, other than we will have all of the important updates when the deal is finally completed.
So instead we are taking a glance at how Sancho’s season matches to his future Manchester United teammates.
Even notwithstanding a sluggish start, Sancho completed really strongly. He managed 16 total goals and 19 assists.
United’s fourth highest scorer
Sancho’s 16 goals for Dortmund last season would have made him Manchester United’s fourth-highest scorer in 2020/21.
This was shorter than Bruno Fernandes (28), Marcus Rashford (21) and Edinson Cavani (17).
It was just higher than Mason Greenwood’s finishing total of 12, United’s next top scorer.

Sancho’s top-scoring season really came in 2019/20 when he scored 20 goals.
That summer he was slow off Marcus Rashford (22) and Anthony Martial (23) – who took a big step back last season.
United’s top creator
Sancho’s assist score of 19 would put him as number one in the Red Devils’ team last season.
Bruno Fernandes was United’s top player for assists with 18 in total.
Marcus Rashford endured 12 and he was the only player to join Fernandes in double figures.
So it is obvious to see United are bringing in major expertise, and Sancho’s capacity to create goals will pull up his teammates’ goalscoring numbers.
Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood, Edinson Cavani, and Anthony Martial will all profit from playing beside Sancho and connecting up with him.
Bruno Fernandes will also embrace another creative energy being added to the attack which takes more stress off him, making his job a little easier as defenses put resources into trying to stop Sancho.
Sancho will have to demonstrate he can turn his Bundesliga form to the Premier League, and it may not occur right away. What his number from the past two seasons demonstrates is a player with major talent.
If he works hard, there is every cause to believe Sancho will be a big breakthrough at Old Trafford.
