Arsenal are not giving up on their pursuit of Brazilian midfielder Danilo, and journalist Dean Jones feels an agreement may be on the verge of being reached.

Arsenal’s pursuit of Danilo has taken on increased significance as of late. His play with Palmeiras in South America in recent seasons has been remarkable, and it has drawn a lot of attention. And because the Gunners have contacts in Brazil, they have him on their list of potential players to sign.

In the past few weeks, there has been speculation that Arsenal is chasing a trade for Danilo that would be worth approximately £22 million.

In a conversation with GiveMeSport, journalist Dean Jones lent credence to the rumors by stating unequivocally that Danilo is among the players who are being evaluated in great depth.

“I think identifying the central midfielder is something that is interesting and they’re looking at right now,” Jones told GiveMeSport.

“Danilo’s definitely one they are making ground on, I think there is a high chance that they try and get that one pushed through.”

As a result of Arsenal’s strong start to the season, a number of supporters have called for the club to be backed again in the January transfer window. It is believed that a central midfielder, such as Danilo, and a winger are essential.

Recent victories for the Gunners with Brazilians are numerous. Martinelli, Jesus, and Gabriel had all been successful in North London up to this point.
