‘He’s not extending the contract…’ – Fabrizio Romano drops major update on Liverpool attacker
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool attacker Divock Origi is slated to leave the club this summer and will not be re-signed.
The Belgian has had a peculiar Reds career, rarely starting but scoring some absolutely legendary goals against Everton, Barcelona, and Tottenham.
Origi, on the other hand, has battled for playing time this season, appearing for only 75 minutes in the Premier League and falling far down the attacking pecking order.
The 26-year-current old’s Liverpool contract expires at the end of the season, and his departure now appears to be unavoidable.
That’s clearly Romano’s perspective, who said on Twitter that Origi will not be extending his stay, with AC Milan interested in signing him:
AC Milan have already made a proposal to sign Divock Origi on a free transfer. He’s not extending the contract with Liverpool, current deal expires in June and AC Milan are pushing to complete the agreement 🔴 #ACMilan

Origi will always hold a particular place in the hearts of Liverpool fans, given the cult icon he has become as a result of his contribution to the club’s golden time of success under Jurgen Klopp.
It makes perfect sense for the Belgium international to seek a new challenge this summer, especially with Luis Diaz’s arrival making him the club’s sixth-best offensive option.
Minutes will continue to be few, and he is at an age when he should be leading the line somewhere else, writing the next chapter in his fascinating career.
