‘He screamed’: 20-year-old Arsenal star yelled ‘angrily’ at Mikel Arteta during a West Ham game – journalist

Goal’s Charles Watts revealed yesterday that Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka and West Ham United’s Mikel Arteta had a heated altercation near the end of the game.

The Gunners played David Moyes’ side at the London Stadium in a game they had no choice but to win.

The North Londoners were awful, but Rob Holding put them ahead after heading home from Saka’s corner.

West Ham immediately responded with Jarrod Bowen, and Arsenal appeared to be having one of those days. Fortunately for them, Gabriel Magalhaes stepped up and scored three points.

Saka, 20, was exhausted near the end of the game and Arteta had to replace him in the 87th minute.

However, only a few moments before the replacement, the player and the manager appeared to have a spat.

The Goal journalist said in a video on his YouTube channel: “There was a moment in the second half, just as Saka went down injured. He wanted the play to be stopped but Mike Dean didn’t stop the play. Bukayo Saka sat on the pitch, not happy, and West Ham carried on playing.

“Then, Mikel was screaming at Bukayo Saka to get up. And then Saka did get up, but he screamed back at Mikel and gestured angrily at Arteta.

“It was a moment, I thought, that just summed up the tension in those last few minutes.

“They did hug it out when Saka went off injured, so I don’t think there’s any risk of a relationship breakdown or anything like that between Arteta and Saka – which is obviously very, very important.”

Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, is undoubtedly the most enthusiastic manager on the touchline in the Premier League, even more animated than his mentor Pep Guardiola.

It’s apparent that Arsenal players have benefited from their boss bellowing instructions from the sidelines, but it can be a bit much to take in at times, especially at the end of a game when everyone is fatigued.

That’s most likely what occurred to Saka on Sunday, which is why the Arsenal youngster opted to lash out at his manager immediately after Arteta yelled at him.

The most crucial thing for Arsenal fans is that Arteta and Saka hugged after the game, indicating that there is no schism between the two.

This Saturday, Arsenal will face Leeds United, and we can practically guarantee that Arteta will continue to shout orders to his players from the first minute to the last.
