“He farted every time we approached him” – Bayern Munich player quoted making an uproarious claim about facing Erling Haaland

Leon Goretzka, the midfielder for Bayern Munich, was recently reported as stating that whenever he attempted to mark Manchester City striker Erling Haaland during their quarter-final match in the UEFA Champions League last month, Haaland let out gas.

Manchester City emerged victorious in the two-legged encounter with a 4-1 aggregate scoreline.

A video from the second leg has surfaced, which shows Goretzka attempting to defend against Haaland during a set-piece and holding his nose.

Haaland can be seen gesturing towards his stomach, possibly explaining something to Goretzka. Following this incident, Goretzka was quoted as saying (according to the Daily Star):

“He has no respect for the opponent or football. He farted every time we approached him.”

Erling Haaland has already made a mark in English football by scoring 35 Premier League goals in his debut season in the country, surpassing the record set by legendary strikers Andy Cole and Alan Shearer during the 42-game Premier League seasons.

Haaland seems to possess some unique techniques to outsmart his rivals. In addition to Goretzka’s claim of Haaland breaking wind, he is also said to pinch his opponents. Brentford player Ben Mee reportedly spoke about this on Monday Night Football.

“He is a powerful lad and we have had a little bit of a jostle. Obviously we are trying to be physical with him and use our body in and around the box to stop him from getting into any positions he wants to.

“Little pinches here and there between me and him. More from him to be fair, but I don’t mind that, I quite like that.”

Erling Haaland is currently in outstanding form and has been performing exceptionally well since joining Manchester City. He is a strong contender to win the Ballon d’Or award this year due to his impressive goal-scoring record.

Manchester City is currently favored to win the Premier League this season and is also in contention to win the UEFA Champions League (with a semi-final match against Real Madrid upcoming) and the FA Cup (they will face Manchester United in the final).

If Haaland can maintain his incredible form and lead Pep Guardiola’s team to win all three competitions, he may become the top candidate for the 2023 Ballon d’Or award. Given that he is only 22 years old, he is expected to continue dominating in this manner for many years to come.
