Luis Enrique, the manager of Spain’s national team, has praised Chelsea youngster Armando Broja.

The Southampton loanee led the line brilliantly for Albania in their 2-1 defeat to Spain on Sunday, March 27. His performance was not forgotten.

Enrique made a statement about the striker, telling reporters (via  Daily Echo):

“Broja is very strong. If you look at him at Southampton, he causes problems for the best central defenders in the world. We (Spain) are not invincible. There were difficulties they put us under. They were going to test us and I am happy with the attitude we showed.”

Broja’s future at Chelsea remains uncertain, since his loan spell at St Mary’s expires at the end of the season.

Despite Chelsea’s need need for goals, Arsenal has been rumoured to be interested in his services.

According to Express Sport, the Albanian would not turn down the chance to transfer to the Emirates Stadium if the Gunners pursue a deal for him.

Enrique’s glitzy analysis of the striker will only add to his rising reputation as one of the Premier League’s most promising forwards.

He has nine goals in 31 appearances in all competitions during his career with the Saints.

Broja’s stature and speed, as Enrique noted, can give many defensive nightmares.

We’ve seen how the striker can put defenses on the back foot on several occasions.

It’s the kind of influence Thomas Tuchel hoped Romelu Lukaku would have when he became the club’s most expensive player in history. They paid Inter Milan £97.5 million to get him back to Stamford Bridge.

However, he has failed to live up to expectations and, as a result, has become a headache for the west London squad.

So far this season, he has 12 goals in 34 appearances across all competitions.

With Lukaku’s form deteriorating, Kai Havertz has been assigned the job of a false number nine.

However, given the uncertainty surrounding Lukaku’s future at Stamford Bridge, Broja might be an important option for Tuchel.

With a year of Premier League experience under his belt, the Albanian might thrive if given the chance to show himself as a regular starter.

Chelsea’s loan strategy has proven to be extremely effective in recent years. Mason Mount and Reece James, for example, gained valuable experience before going on to become some of the EPL’s finest players.
