Amid a handful of transfer rumors, Tottenham could be on the brink of deciding on Harry Kane and his top beau Manchester City.

Following another frustrating season, Tottenham and Kane are once again linked to another potential breakup.

There has been a lot of talk about Kane’s future in the past few weeks, but according to famed transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, the Spurs might finally provide an update concerning the English striker’s link-up to Manchester City “in the next hours or days.”

At the moment, Romano revealed that everything is “still the same” with Kane’s desire for a UEFA Champions League assignment and Manchester City likely to venture into the English national team captain.

“The feeling around Harry Kane is still the same,” Romano recently said on “The Here We Go” podcast. “Tottenham are changing a lot of things at the club, on the bench, and many things, manager, director. But, the situation for Harry Kane is still the same”

“The player wants to play Champions League football and Manchester City is really pushing for him,” he added. “Manchester City are really going to insist on Harry Kane. I think there will be some update in the next hours or days about this situation because Manchester City wants Harry Kane but we have to respect Tottenham’s position, and Tottenham at the moment is still saying: ‘No, the player is not leaving. We want a crazy bid or the player is staying’.”

Prior to Romano’s report, Tottenham president Daniel Levy earlier discussed the club’s summer transfer plans.

According to Levy, the only thing certain about Kane and Tottenham is the desire to “win.”

“I am never going to talk about any specific player in public,” Levy recently told Tottenham’s official website. “All I will say is his frustrations in not winning are shared by me and all the fans and players. We all want to win.”

“One of the items that Fabio [Paratici] will have to deal with when he comes in is which players are going to be retained, which will be asked to look for other clubs,” he continued. “There is a market out there. What we want and what other clubs want is not always possible to achieve. We will do whatever is right for the club.”

Despite declining to provide precise details about Kane, Levy guaranteed that the Spurs will “spend” on the right signings this summer.

“We will spend but we are a self-sustaining club, we have to be sensible,” the chief revealed. “Sometimes the fans think we should be spending but there have been circumstances when the coach hasn’t wanted to spend on a player. We will make investments in the squad.”
