Harry Kane accidentally informs Edu about the striker Arsenal should pursue amid Gabriel Jesus speculations
England captain Harry Kane has lavished praise on AS Roma forward Tammy Abraham, who has been linked with a summer move to Arsenal.
The Tottenham striker emphasised the former Chelsea man’s expertise, despite his age, as something that a young Arsenal side may be able to draw on.
That experience is especially noticeable after the previous season. Mikel Arteta and his squad had a fantastic season, but they fell short of a top-four finish late in the season.
Many comments were made about the squad’s lack of depth, a striker, and experience.
The summer transfer window provides an opportunity for the Spaniard to address this. “We are going to have certain resources, not unlimited resources, some resources,” Arteta said when discussing the spending power his side will have.
The manager’s transfer priority is likely to be at striker, where the Gunners have a hole to fill.
Alexandre Lacazette has already declared his departure after his contract expired, and the previous season lacked a reliable goal-scoring threat at center-forward.
A number of players, including Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, have been linked with the position. Tammy Abraham, who scored 17 goals in 37 Serie A games, has also been mentioned.
Tottenham forward Kane has openly discussed his compatriot over the international break, in light of current rumours. “Tammy is a great player,” He said. “He had a fantastic season at club level and even though he’s still learning, he’s already got experience in the game.
“Every time he comes here [on international duty], he works hard, he trains hard, he wants to impress the manager, he wants to score goals.”
Abraham has previously declared his desire to return to the Premier League, so it remains to be seen whether he will make the transfer to the Emirates.
