Chelsea is reportedly contemplating ending Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s contract at Stamford Bridge, as their current manager Graham Potter has no plans of keeping the striker at the club for the next season.

The Blues had signed Aubameyang from Barcelona for £10m in the previous summer during Thomas Tuchel’s tenure, but the 33-year-old has fallen out of favour after Potter took charge at the club.

In February, the former Brighton coach excluded Aubameyang from Chelsea’s Champions League team to make room for new signings.

According to  Football Insider, the English coach now wishes to remove the Gabonese international from the team and may terminate his contract, which has a year remaining, in the summer.

The report also suggests that Aubameyang himself is eager to leave Chelsea and would be willing to reach a mutual agreement to terminate his contract with the club.

Meanwhile, Potter and Chelsea are looking for a new striker as they head into the summer transfer window.

It’s uncertain who the Blues will sign, but a quality addition to the role could elevate the London club’s performance to the next level.
