‘Gone’: Arteta reveals what he told Arsenal players after Tottenham defeat
According to Football.London, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta ordered his players to forget about the Tottenham Hotspur game immediately after the defeat at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Arsenal were defeated 3-0 by Tottenham in the North London derby on Thursday evening.
Spurs’ Harry Kane scored twice and Son Heung-min scored once in the Premier League match.
Football.London quotes Arteta as saying: “I said in the dressing room this game is history for us. Now it’s Newcastle. That’s gone.”
BBC Sport quotes the Arsenal boss as saying: “This game is history and all our focus is Newcastle, Newcastle, Newcastle.
“I told them I was so proud of them and if we do what we did in the first half an hour here we will be fine against Newcastle.”
Arsenal, in our opinion, must recover from their loss to Tottenham in the North London derby and demonstrate their true worth.
Arsenal are remain one point ahead of Tottenham in fourth place.
This season has two more rounds of matches left.
Arsenal’s fate is entirely in their own hands.
In the Premier League, the Gunners will face Newcastle United away from home at St. James’ Park before hosting Everton at the Emirates Stadium.
Newcastle has nothing to play for, yet the Magpies will be difficult to beat.
Everton, however, are hoping to avoid relegation to the Championship and will make things difficult for Arsenal even in front of their own fans.
