Glenn Murray alleges ‘deadly’ Arsenal star has been ‘forgotten about’

Glenn Murray claims that people have ‘forgotten about’ Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, as he told Premier League Productions.

According to the former Crystal Palace striker, Aubameyang is better off playing down the middle rather than out on the left because he drifts out of games a lot less for Arsenal.

While Aubameyang’s overall performance was not his best on Monday night, he did add a goal to his game and led the press without the ball.

Last season was a struggle for Aubameyang, who had one of his worst seasons in front of goal in many years.

Perhaps this is why the Gabonese star has been mentioned less and not mentioned alongside the likes of Mo Salah, Harry Kane, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Jamie Vardy when discussing the Golden Boot race.

Murray knows what it’s like to lead the line in England’s top flight and come up against a player of Aubameyang’s caliber, as he said about the player.

“Everyone seems to have forgotten about Aubameyang,” said Murray. “But he is still deadly. What I liked about Aubameyang is that I like him through the middle.

“When he is out on the left, then I feel he drifts in and out of games. He feels that he is the main man again and it gives him that focal point.

“With the the youth and energy around him, buzzing around him, creating for him, it’s a good scenario for Arsenal.”

The Aubameyang who helped Arsenal win the FA Cup in Mikel Arteta’s first season in charge has yet to make an impact

But one thing is certain: he is gradually resembling his former self, which Arsenal fans can only see as a positive.

In reality, he did his job against Palace by opening the scoring; it was the team and tactics that let Patrick Vieira’s side dominate and then take the lead.

Alexandre Lacazette saved Arsenal’s blushes near the end, but even so, they were probably lucky to get a point.
