Glazers and Sheikh agree massive transfer budget, fans will be stunned

According to a reliable Spanish newspaper, Erik ten Hag is set to receive a substantial amount of money for transfers this summer, despite earlier reports suggesting otherwise.

The acquisition process for the club is still ongoing, with the Glazer family, the current owners, leveraging the interest of Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al Thani to maximize the club’s value.

Numerous reports have indicated that this situation has disrupted Manchester United’s summer transfer budget, leading to restrictions of £100 – £150 million for the football department.

However, El Pais, a reputable Spanish publication, asserts that both the Glazers and Sheikh Jassim have actually approved a massive budget of €500 million.

“United are engineering the biggest market assault in football history,” El Pais claims.

“Sources that advise the Glazers indicate that whether ownership changes or not, the most valued sports institution in the Anglo-Saxon world is preparing to invest a minimum of €500 million in signing players this summer.

“United have informed the Qataris of the plan. ‘United gave us the list of players they wanted to sign,’ explained a member of the technical team that accompanies Sheikh Jassim; ‘And after an hour of analysis we did not object.’”

The outlet says “Sheikh Jassim’s envoys agreed and approved the 500 million euro credit that the Glazers have signed with Bank of America, and which they intend to allocate to hiring in 2023.”

The extraordinary report states that regardless of the club’s ownership, there is an acknowledgment from both the current owners and the Qataris that the team requires reinforcement after a decade of underinvestment. Specifically, they recognize the need to acquire five players to fill four positions.

At the forefront of their priorities is signing a striker, and the shortlist includes prominent names such as Harry Kane, Victor Osimhen, and Dusan Vlahovic.

Additionally, Manchester United intends to bring in a midfielder, and the report mentions potential targets like Frenkie de Jong, Adrien Rabiot, and Alexis Mac Allister.

The next priority, surprisingly, is a left winger, “where they bet on Kvaratskhelia or Kingsley Coman”.

Furthermore, it appears improbable that Manchester United would require two additional center-backs, considering the presence of world-class options like Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane in the current squad, along with capable backups such as Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw.

Moreover, adhering to Financial Fair Play regulations would pose a challenge for Manchester United if they were to spend £500 million, as such a significant expenditure could potentially exceed the financial limits imposed by the regulations.

Nevertheless, despite the implausibility of the report, it is still enjoyable to indulge in such dreams. The idea of having a budget comparable to that of Boehly and the anticipation it stirs among United fans is undoubtedly enticing.
