Gary Neville tweets three-word reaction to Ronaldo after being savaged by Man Utd superstar

Gary Neville tweets three-word reaction to Ronaldo after being savaged by Man Utd superstar

Gary Neville has given a scathing response to Cristiano Ronaldo’s new comments following his controversial interview, in which he was savaged by the  Manchester United  star.

The Portuguese superstar has continued to lash out at former club executives and analysts, with Neville being his latest target following the ugly feud between the two former team-mates over the past few months. The former United defender has now responded.

Ronaldo appeared to take offense to Neville’s comments shortly after he rejoined United in August 2021 that he should not have returned to Old Trafford and claimed that his time there would be cut short, as he looked to believe that Neville was wrong.

The Portuguese star has subsequently claimed that Neville uses his name to gain notoriety and has elaborated on their fallout.

“We’re not ever having dinner together,” Ronaldo told Piers Morgan’s Uncensored show. “To listen as ex-colleagues or team-mates criticise you, when they only see one point of view. It’s easy, it’s easy to criticise, I don’t know if you have a job in television that they must criticise to be more famous.

“I really don’t understand it. It’s hard when you see people who was in the dressing room with you criticising that way.”

After hearing Ronaldo’s most recent comments directed at him, Neville quickly responded by tweeting three words to his 5.4 million followers.

And the 45-year- old’s remarks may prompt another response from Ronaldo, who criticized the five-time Ballon d’Or victor’s outburst.

Tuesday morning, the Sky Sports analyst tweeted from his official account, “Anyone for dinner?”

Neville added fuel to the fire when he retweeted a post showing video footage of Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes meeting in the Portugal camp after travelling to the World Cup. In the footage, Ronaldo sought to greet Fernandes when tensions were escalating at Old Trafford.

Ronaldo and his agent Jorge Mendes reportedly met with Bayern Munich executives a week before his interview aired on Morgan’s channel, indicating that he had been arranging his exit from the club for some time. Ronaldo’s inability to find a new club this summer will not surprise Neville or United supporters.

United authorities met with head coach Erik ten Hag on Monday to consider his penalty for his scathing attack on ten Hag, the Glazers, and former club players.

The maximum fine is two weeks, which could amount to £1 million for the club’s highest-paid player, Ronaldo.

The club is also seeking legal counsel over Ronaldo’s future, and there is still a chance that his contract, which has seven months remaining, might be amicably canceled after the World Cup.
