Gabriel Martinelli discloses why the world will soon talk about Gunners coach Mikel Arteta

Gabriel Martinelli has predicted a bright future for himself as a manager, claiming that the world will soon be talking about Arteta because he will make history as a coach.

With his goals and performance, the Brazilian has been a submile under the Spanish management. This has won him a spot on the South American country’s senior national squad.

The 20-year-old said “He was there to support me when I got hurt. He is already a great coach, who works thinking of what modern football is like, giving us great advice.

“He is also a nice person, always treating people well. I feel Arteta will be one of those lifelong coaches with lots of titles to their name and their place in football history.”

Arsenal are fourth in the Premier League with 10 games remaining and are striving for a return to the Champions League after five years outside Europe’s elite.

Martinelli said: “Arsenal always go into competitions thinking of winning titles. We didn’t deliver on this objective for a few seasons, but we are now leaving it behind us.

“We have the chance to be in the next Champions League and we are fighting towards it. It is the main objective for the club. We need to do it.”

The Gunners must think more long-term, but Gabriel Martinelli believes there are plenty of reasons to be optimistic.

“We had a very big reformulation, our team has many youngsters, 23, 20 years old,” Martinelli said this week.

“We have a future ahead of us, if we keep this team, we can fight for titles in the following seasons, we will fight for that.

“This season we will fight for fourth place, to go to the Champions League, and then fight for the Champions League.”

It’s a gradual process, and Arsenal still has a lot of work to do simply to make the top four by the end of May.

Though the Gunners presently have a three-point lead and a game in hand on Tottenham Hotspur, their schedule is unquestionably more difficult.

Spurs’ only remaining top-eight games are against Liverpool and Arsenal, while Arsenal must go to face Chelsea, Manchester United, West Ham United, and, of course, Spurs.

Even Arsenal’s easier games are not without difficulty. Crystal Palace away has been a difficult game in recent seasons, and they are currently in good form.

Newcastle United’s recent revival may make it more tough to beat them away.
