Gabriel makes cheeky dig at Aubameyang on Twitter after Arsenal win at Stamford Bridge

Gabriel has added salt to Pierre-Emerick Aubamayang’s wounds by tweeting “Nothing personal, London is Red” after Arsenal’s victory over Chelsea.

The Brazilian defender scored the lone goal in the Gunners’ 1-0 victory at Stamford Bridge, which returned Mikel Arteta’s team to the top of the table.

After Bukayo Saka’s 63rd-minute corner came to his feet, he hammered the ball into the goal from close range.

Immediately before the final whistle, he made a snide comment about his former teammate Aubameyang.

Aubameyang appeared in a promotional video for BT Sport prior to the London derby, in which he stated, “Arsenal, nothing personal. I’m back. I’m blue. I’m ready.”

Gabriel responded to his comments with a fantastic tweet: “Nothing personal, London is Red.”

Gabriel is no stranger to post-match humor, as he mimicked Ivan Toney’s old tweet following Arsenal’s 3-0 September victory over Brentford.

The former Lille star, who recently signed a new long-term contract with Arsenal, is having a spectacular season for the Gunners.

He has scored twice in 18 matches across all competitions in which he has started all 13 Premier League games for the Gunners.

As for Aubameyang, the Gabon international has failed to score in his previous five Premier League matches for Chelsea.

Graham Potter chose to substitute the 33-year-old after Gabriel’s goal because he had failed to make an impression.

In a poor performance, he had only four touches in the first half, when he was penalized for a terrible tackle on Ben White.

Before being replaced by Armando Broja, he managed only four additional touches in the second half.

Granit Xhaka, a midfielder for Arsenal, could not contain his elation after the final whistle, describing the traveling fans’ support as “f***ing unbelievable.”

Before adding: “You can see the atmosphere, it’s unbelievable.

“From the start until the end I think we deserved to win today, we was much, much, much the better team today.

“We are so happy that everything is going well at the moment, we are keeping to everything that the coaches are telling us, and these are the results.

“Listen, after the season, nobody ask you how you win in November or December or in January, so we are trying to get a lot of points as possible and after let’s see where we end.”
