Gabriel Jesus reacts to his first day at Arsenal training with two words
Gabriel Jesus just wrote ‘let’s run’ on Instagram after finishing his first day of training as an Arsenal player.
After a lengthy wait, Arsenal announced the signing of their new number nine from Manchester City on Monday.
After missing out on Champions League football last season, Mikel Arteta’s attacking line will benefit from the addition of depth, talent, and competition.
This is what Jesus shared on Instagram yesterday, along with a video of him being put through his paces at London Colney.
Jesus scored 14 Premier League goals for Pep Guardiola’s free-scoring Manchester City during his tenure there.
The Brazil international wasn’t a regular, and he didn’t consistently play in the middle, so there are reasons why he didn’t make it past 15 or 20.
But he will be hoping that changes in north London because there will be a lot of pressure on his shoulders and he will get his chance to play through the middle.
There were plenty of huge fish in the sea at Manchester City, from the now-departed Sergio Aguero to the prospering Kevin de Bruyne.
However, there are fewer star names and big-name players at his current team, which puts more emphasis on Jesus’ head.
This is a shrewd move by the player, and it was much required, especially with the 2022 World Cup approaching.
If Jesus has a good start to the season, including finding the back of the net on a regular basis, there is no reason why he shouldn’t start Brazil’s first game against Serbia in Qatar.
