Gabriel Jesus Arsenal squad number eventually leak ahead of official announcement
Gabriel Jesus has agreed to join Arsenal after Manchester City agreed to sell the Brazilian international for £45 million.
The striker has already completed his medical with the club and is finalising his duties before the official announcement.
Many people speculated on what jersey number the 25-year-old would wear for the team next season.
A leaked video of Jesus going about the club in his new Arsenal shirt has confirmed that he is the sole owner of the No. 9.

After Alexandre Lacazette’s departure, Jesus takes the number formerly worn by the late Jose Antonio Reyes, Nicolas Anelka, and Alan Smith. The number’s recent history has not been particularly fruitful.
The legendary number has been worn by Lucas Perez, Lukas Podolski, Chu-young Park, and Julio Baptista.
Eduardo, a Croatian international, was arguably the player who shattered the mould during the Emirates era, until he fractured his leg.
This motion for Jesus, on the other hand, has a whole different vibe. Bringing in an experienced Premier League forward is a significant step in the right way for the team.
The signing is likely to be announced in the coming days. Given the significance of the move, supporters should probably expect a lengthy unveiling.
Fabio Vieira’s entrance at London Colney was preceded by extensive behind-the-scenes coverage.
With Jesus being filmed at the Emirates, it looks that the club’s home will be a higher priority for his signature.
Arsenal’s senior team returned to pre-season training on Monday, and Jesus is expected to join them shortly after being granted an extended break while with the Brazilian national team.
While in a German training camp, he may have his first chance to play in a friendly against Nuremberg next Friday.
The club will next go to Florida for a pre-season tour of the United States before returning to England to face Sevilla in the Emirates Cup, where Jesus is set to make his home non-competitive debut for the team.
