Full Arsenal squad for Liverpool amid Saliba injury return decision
Arsenal will face Liverpool in a massive Premier League match at Anfield on Sunday in an attempt to regain their eight-point advantage at the top. Saturday evening’s victory over Southampton by title rivals Manchester City narrowed the gap between them to five points.
Anything other than a victory on Merseyside could hand the advantage back to the defending champions, who have a game in hand over Arsenal and must host Mikel Arteta’s squad at Etihad Stadium later this month. To avoid this, Arsenal would need to defeat Liverpool on the road for the first time in 11 years.
Arsenal must still face Manchester City, Newcastle, and Chelsea during a crucial six-game stretch that could decide the title.
Liverpool are in a poor run of form, having not won in the league since March 5, when they defeated Manchester United 7-0. Arsenal, meanwhile, enters the title decider on the heels of two 4-1 wins at Emirates Stadium.
Arteta has confirmed that Bukayo Saka will return after a recent illness that limited him to a substitute appearance. As a result, the Gunners have a nearly full strength squad available.
Ben White was also dealing with some issues prior to last weekend’s match, while Arteta hinted on Friday that Eddie Nketiah could return to the matchday squad.
William Saliba, however, is a major doubt for the match, while Takehiro Tomiyasu and Mohamed Elneny are certain to miss the match and most likely the rest of the season. Arteta has the following players to choose from for the match against Liverpool:
Goalkeepers: Aaron Ramsdale, Matt Turner, James Hillson.
Defenders: Ben White, Gabriel Magalhaes, Rob Holding, Jakub Kiwior, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Kieran Tierney, Reuell Walters
Midfielders: Thomas Partey, Martin Odegaard, Fabio Vieira, Jorginho, Granit Xhaka.
Forwards: Gabriel Jesus, Emile Smith Rowe, Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka, Reiss Nelson, Leandro Trossard.
