Frenkie de Jong ‘tells Ten Hag he is happy to join Man Utd’

Frenkie De Jong has reportedly informed Manchester United  manager Erik ten Hag that he is “happy” to join him at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils have a long-term interest in the Dutch midfielder and intend to sign him and England’s Jude Bellingham.

United attempted to sign the Barcelona star last summer and agreed on a £74 million transfer fee, but the deal fell through due to his deferred pay.

This resulted in the signings of Real Madrid star Casemiro for £70 million and Christian Eriksen for free.

It is reported that the club remains keen in acquiring his services, since Ten Hag views him as a world-class player who can strengthen his midfield.

And as a boost for United, De Jong has privately informed the boss that he is happy to be joining the club, according to  MEN.

Despite the fact that the 25-year-old has officially proclaimed his desire to remain with the LaLiga club.

During the World Cup, he was absent from the club as he helped the Netherlands reach the quarterfinals.

Despite aspirations of winning the tournament, they were eliminated on penalties by eventual champions Argentina.

United intends to match De Jong with Borussia Dortmund and Jude Bellingham of England.

The midfielder excelled for England in Qatar with his great displays.

He has become one of the most sought-after players on the European football market, with the continent’s top team vying for his signing.
