Four players tipped to depart Manchester United in the January transfer window
During the summer transfer window, Manchester United were one of the busiest Premier League clubs.
The Old Trafford giants issued a triple statement of intent by signing Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane, and returning five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo.
Given their current situation, United are almost certainly looking for further improvement.
However, there is a surplus that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer – or whoever succeeds him as manager – may have to address first in order to bring anyone else through the door.
SkyBet predicts four players will leave Old Trafford during the January transfer window.
Jesse Lingard – Newcastle (9/2)
Newcastle was linked to players left, right, and center from the moment they were taken over.

Jesse Lingard has struggled to break into the Manchester United starting lineup after returning from a successful loan spell with West Ham United last season.
Lingard’s last-minute heroics against West Ham and goal against Newcastle had many believing he would continue his form at Old Trafford, but he has been relegated to the bench more often than not as others around him have been trusted with starts.
A Newcastle side hoping to break into the top six sooner rather than later will need all the help they can get, and Lingard – who is in the final year of his contract – is an excellent option.
Anthony Martial – PSG (8/1)
Anthony Martial’s United career has been up and down, with the marquee arrivals of Edinson Cavani, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Javier Hernandez over the last two seasons pushing him down the pecking order.

Despite his ability to play anywhere in the front three, Martial prefers to work out on the left, even though he considers himself more of a centre-forward.
Due to his inconsistency, Solskjaer has relied on the aforementioned Cavani and Ronaldo, as well as Mason Greenwood, to lead their attack.
With Marcus Rashford back in training and Anthony Elanga continuing to impress, Martial’s six-year stay at Old Trafford could be coming to an end.
Paul Pogba – PSG (9/1)
Paul Pogba’s chances of extending his contract are dwindling by the day.
Pogba will be able to speak with teams from all over Europe beginning January 1st, and he is widely expected to return to Juventus or finally land his dream move to Real Madrid.

However, given the ongoing project in his native France with big-spending PSG, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Pogba line up alongside Neymar, Lionel Messi, and Kylian Mbappe.
And making the move in January rather than waiting until the summer to sign him on a free transfer would be excellent business for United, as it would allow them to recoup some of the £89.3 million they paid in 2016.
Donny van de Beek – Juventus (5/1)
It just hasn’t worked for Donny van de Beek under Solskjaer yet.
Van de Beek was expected to bring skill and playmaking abilities to a United midfield that needed creativity in the middle of the park when he arrived from Ajax in 2020 after helping them reach the Champions League semi-finals in 2019.
Despite scoring on his debut, the Dutchman has struggled to get off the bench on a consistent basis.

Van de Beek’s loan to Everton was terminated in the summer after the club informed him that he would see more game time this season.
But that never happened, and if Solskjaer is still in charge at Old Trafford in January, van de Beek is unlikely to stay for much longer.
