Former Tottenham Hotspur player pledges to wear an Arsenal shirt for five shows if Mikel Arteta’s side finishes ahead of Spurs

Arsenal will be looking to improve on their fifth-place finish in the Premier League last season this season, and they’ll have some added motivation.

While the race for the top four appears to be more difficult than ever, talkSPORT’s Jamie O’Hara is confident Tottenham Hotspur can finish above Arsenal once more – so much so that he’s made a very risky promise.

The former Tottenham midfielder is always vocal about his love for his former club, especially when they beat fellow talkSPORT host Laura Wood’s Arsenal.

Last season, the north London rivals fought until the bitter end to finish fourth, with Antonio Conte’s side defeating Mikel Arteta’s Gunners on the final day to claim the coveted Champions League spot.

After his team’s win over Southampton, the Spurs superfan is so confident that his old team will finish higher than their opponents in the league that he has agreed to a forfeit if he is wrong.

And this promise will be difficult for O’Hara to swallow if Arsenal beat Spurs to the post…

“Spurs will finish above Arsenal,” O’Hara said.

On Saturday’s Gameday Phone-In, O’Hara was joined by former Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor.

Gabby quickly seized the opportunity to hold his co-host accountable for his statement.

“I’ll make a bet with you,” he said. “The bet is, if Spurs finish above Arsenal I have to wear a Leeds United shirt for at least five shows.”

But there was a catch for O’Hara.

“If Arsenal finish above Spurs, you have to wear an Arsenal shirt for five shows,” Agbonlahor added.

However, the Tottenham fan maintained his claim.

“I’m happy to take the bet right now, because we’re going to finish above Arsenal,” said O’Hara.
