Former Inter-Milan player Fredy Guarin arrested after ‘assaulting his parents.’

The 34 years old former Inter Milan player was confronted by police and dragged away after he was accused of assaulting his father and other family members on Thursday.

A shocking video had emerged that showed Fredy Guarin covered in blood after a domestic disturbance in Colombia at his parents’ home.

It is not clear where the blood came from but the shocking clip shows the ex-Milan player yelling at a police officer while his shirt seems to have been ripped during the alleged fracas.

A second video emerged shortly after on YouTube that showed the former player being confronted and restrained by a police officer to a gurney just outside of a Medellin Hospital with reports suggesting that the midfielder strongly demanded against being filmed.

The Colombian news outlet  Semana confirmed that the police indicated that Guarin was under ‘substances influence’ just before the police received a call regarding the occurrence of the mentioned domestic violence.

General Jorge Vargas confirmed that the midfielder physically attacked his parents and asked them to take him to the police. 

This comes just days after Guarin had asked his team Millonarios to give him some time off his club duties due to ‘personal issues’ as reported by Marca.

Guillermo Arango, a Colombian journalist reported that Millonarios will stand by Guarin and offer him any necessary support that he may require during this tough time.

The midfielder joined Inter Milan in 20212 after enjoying playing careers at Fc Porto, Saint-Etienne, and Boca Juniours. He made 141 appearances for the Italian giants after 4 years spell with the club. In 2016, he was sold to Chinese outfit Shanghai Shenhua.

He spent three years in v=china and returned to South America where he signed with Vasco de Gama, a Brazilian outfit. His stint with the Brazilian side however ended after just a year and returned to his home country to sign for Millonarios in January.
