Former England manager instructs Manchester United player to leave the club

Sam Allardyce believes that Harry Maguire must leave Manchester United in January, citing a post-World Cup conundrum.

Harry Maguire is experiencing a lackluster season both domestically and abroad. While Erik ten Hag appears to have abandoned Manchester United’s captain from his plans, Gareth Southgate frequently includes him in his starting teams.

The Manchester United defender has received severe criticism for his subpar performances. As club captain, Maguire has always been at the center of controversy whenever the squad underperforms on the field.

Since Erik ten Hag took over, the center-back has fallen increasingly out of favor and out of the Dutch manager’s lineups. As a result of Raphael Varane’s injuries in recent weeks, the manager has favored Viktor Lindelof, causing Harry Maguire to contemplate his long-term future with the club.

Recent rumours have suggested Manchester United may explore selling the defender in January. Several suitors may be considering a move, but his price tag could prove troublesome.

According to certain reports, Manchester United could seek approximately €30 million for a former world-record signing. He continues to play for Manchester United and is a consistent starter for England in Qatar.

Former England manager Sam Allardyce urged the central defender to leave Manchester United via the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast and Football 365.

Allardyce said, “Harry Maguire silenced the critics straight away. People say it was only Iran, but it was a big moment for him, everyone was looking at him, and he handled it brilliantly.

“It leaves him in a great dilemma when he comes back to [Manchester] United because if he isn’t going to get picked, he needs to leave.

“He’s certainly proven to everyone in the press, who were trying to pressurise Gareth [Southgate] not to play him and saying he isn’t good enough to play for United or England. He’s proven that is nonsense.”

A successful tournament in Qatar could spark interest in the Manchester United center-back, who is still regarded as a key player. There appears to be no room for him in Ten Hag’s plans, therefore his likelihood of leaving is quite strong.
