Feyenoord’s sporting director confirms the only thing remaining before Tyrell Malacia transfer to Manchester United becomes imminent
Manchester United launched a stunning bid to recruit Feyenoord left-back Tyrell Malacia, despite the fact that the Dutch international appeared to be on his way to Lyon.
With Alex Telles failing to impress last season, the 22-year-old is considered as a back-up to, and eventual replacement for, Luke Shaw.
New United manager Erik ten Hag is a known, long-term admirer of the youngster and had attempted to sign him when in charge of his former club Ajax.
Erik ten Hag, the new manager of Manchester United, is a long-time admirer of the teenager and attempted to sign him when he was in charge of his old club Ajax.

Malacia is set to depart his first and so far only club this summer, with Feyenoord accepting a £13 million bid from French club Lyon earlier this week.
However, it was revealed on Tuesday afternoon that United had made a dramatic late entrance in that deal, agreeing to meet Feyenoord’s asking price with a more generous up-front offer than their French competitors
Feyenoord’s sporting director Arnesen stated that a deal has been agreed upon with Manchester United for Malacia to join the club this summer.
He emphasised that it is now up to the player, and the deal will take place once the Dutch full-back agrees to the move..
Feyenoord director Frank Arnesen told Dutch media: “The agreement with Manchester United is there. We are now waiting for Tyrell. If he says yes, then a transfer to Manchester United is imminent.”
Feyenoord will almost certainly earn a guaranteed fee of €15 million from his exit this summer.
