Fabrizio Romano: ‘Unbelievable’ Striker Favors Chelsea to Manchester United in Yet Another Humiliation

Both Fabrizio Romano and Jason Burt believe that “unbelievable” striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang would prefer a move to Chelsea over a move to Manchester United.

Both clubs are thought to be interested in the experienced forward, but with advantages such as his previous relationship with Thomas Tuchel and the possibility of playing in the Champions League, Stamford Bridge appears to be a more appealing destination than Old Trafford at the moment.

Mason Greenwood recently left the club after serious allegations were made against him, while fellow centre-forward Edinson Cavani left in the summer when his contract expired.

Not only that, but Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to leave the club in the coming weeks, leaving Erik ten Hag with only one natural striker to call on – Anthony Martial.

This demonstrates their desperate need for reinforcements in the position, which is why they turned to Aubameyang, a man with plenty of Premier League experience who would not command an exorbitant transfer fee due to his advanced age.

Similarly, Thomas Tuchel could use a focal point for his attack this summer.

Both Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner have left this summer, with the former returning on loan to former club Inter Milan and the latter returning to an old club in RB Leipzig, and this, along with the rumoured departure of young prospect Armando Broja, leaves the West London side severely lacking in attacking options.

Aubameyang could help in some ways, but his age of 33 means he is not a long-term solution.
