Fabrizio Romano heartbreaks Tottenham fans with his latest update on Mancity Harry Kane transfer saga.
Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has given an update on the circumstances surrounding Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane and a possible Manchester City move.
Recent reports appear to hint that Manchester City have tabled a £100m bid for the England skipper, who has reportedly made his position clear that he wishes to depart North London this summer following Tottenham’s failure to qualify for the Champions League.
The report is assumed to be rejected, but according to Romano who was speaking on TalkSport , Manchester City will not stop there and are prepared to attempt again to get him, but that any future gambits are likely to come after this summer’s European Championships.
“The expectation is that they will try again because of course we are in June so the market is still so long and they want Harry Kane. What I’m told is that Pep Guardiola wants him as first target and also the board of Manchester City they love the player, they are convinced that he is perfect for what Manchester City are looking for after losing Sergio Aguero who is joining Barcelona so they want something new and they think that Harry Kane is perfect.
“So my feeling is that they will try again during the summer, they will try to negotiate, they will try to find the right way to convince Daniel Levy, also because they know the player wants to play Champions League football. Harry Kane wants to play Champions League football and this is the key for Manchester City.

“We will see if they will do another bid I think after the Euros, nothing will be decided during the Euros to respect the player, to respect the national team, but then immediately after I suspect Manchester City to move again for Harry Kane.”
This is probably a worrying update for Tottenham Hotspur and their devotees because it doesn’t provide a lot of certainty over Kane’s future and will cause the dilemma to just drag on.
And whilst Spurs have stated that they will not sell him for any price this summer, Man City are one of the few clubs in world football that have the financial clout to test that assertion.
So if they do finally put in an offer that Spurs cannot resist, then that will leave Spurs frantically searching for someone to succeed him in the last few weeks of the window.
So for Spurs and their supporters’ understanding, hopefully this is something that can be sorted out as soon as possible rather than being drawn out longer than it has to.
