Fabrizio Romano gives a crucial update about Liverpool’s Georginio Wijnaldum replacement progress.
The Reds lost Dutch midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum at the inception of the month, with his deal running down.
The 30-year-old failed to strike a deal with the club over prolongation of his contract , with him bequeathing as a free agent.
This led to Wijnaldum striking an agreement with French titans Paris Saint-Germain after almost joining Barcelona.
However, his exit has now left the Reds with the depressing task of succeeding him this summer, with plenty of alternatives mooted.
The likes of Youri Tielemans, Houssem Aouar, Florian Neuhaus, Saúl Ñíguez, and Yves Bissouma have been linked.
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the club has a three-man shortlist, with Bissouma included.
As cited by The Anfield Talk above, the club reportedly have a shortlist of three individuals for consideration this summer.
Unluckily for Liverpool supporters, the Italian does not elude to which players are on the supported list.
There could simply be some authenticity in some of the above names, however, with some making sensible targets.
Neuhaus is one midfielder that has been broadly linked with the club over the last few weeks.
Not only this, but Tielemans has even been doubted over the rumors whilst on duty for Belgium this month.
The 24-year-old stated he is concentrating on Euro 2020 this month before even discussing his possible future.
