Fabrizio Romano delivers fresh update on Kalvin Phillips to Manchester City transfer
Manchester City’s pursuit of Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips is nearly complete.
It was reported earlier this week that City had agreed a deal with Leeds to sign the midfielder, but nothing has been heard since.
Personal terms have been discussed behind the scenes, and those discussions have finally been completed.
Everything has been signed, and the deal has been done, according to Fabrizio Romano, with only the official announcement remaining.
The medical has already been completed, and an agreement has been reached for City midfielder Dark Gyabi to join Leeds on a five-year deal worth roughly £5 million.
Phillips, according to the source, turned down two other offers to join City this summer.
Phillips will join a packed Manchester City midfield in a transfer worth between £45 million and £50 million.
As far as defensive midfielders go, Rodri is the starter, and he is coming off a fantastic season that earned him a new contract.
Phillips faces a difficult assignment in replacing the Spaniard.
Manchester City have signed all paperworks in order to announce Kalvin Phillips deal with Leeds. Medical done, while Darko Gyabi will join Leeds from Man City for €7m fee. 📑✅ #MCFC

Phillips turned down two other proposals as he only wanted Man City move.
After bringing Leeds to and maintaining them in the Premier League, Phillips now leaves a colder, more realistic legacy – sponsoring the next phase of expansion at his hometown club, which will undoubtedly not fall apart without him.
