FA issues verdict after investigating Arsenal’s goal celebrations

The FA has chosen not to punish Arsenal for their post-match celebrations following their dramatic last-minute victory over Bournemouth.

Reiss Nelson’s goal in the 98th minute led to an exciting comeback from two goals down and secured three valuable points in the Premier League title race.

Referee Chris Kavanagh reported the celebrations, which led to an investigation by the FA.

According to the regulations of the game, it is expected that players and staff conduct themselves in a responsible way. Moreover, those who are limited to the technical area are not allowed to step onto the field unless they have a valid reason to do so.

However, following Nelson’s goal, Arsenal manager Arteta ran down the touchline to celebrate, and several substitutes went onto the pitch to congratulate the scorer.

Arsenal had already been penalized with a fine of £40,000 twice this season for not controlling their players, once during a match against Oxford in the FA Cup and another during a Premier League draw against Newcastle at home.

Meanwhile, Arteta referred to Nelson’s goal as the most intense moment he had experienced since taking charge of Arsenal, stating that it was probably the loudest and most emotional moment they had shared together.

“The journey that we’ve been on together and how the supporters and team are together, adding the important moment we had today, it was very special.

“Everybody is probably overwhelmed a little bit. It was madness from the first second of the game with a routine we knew they could do and we defend so poorly.”
