“FA cup is already rigged” Chelsea supporters have FA Cup conspiracy theory and say ‘Pep and Tuchel were right all along’
Based on the colour of the trophy’s ribbons, Chelsea fans have formed an FA Cup conspiracy theory.
Before the final between Chelsea and Liverpool, Match of the Day broadcaster Gary Lineker shared a video on Twitter of the famed old trophy, which was decked with red ribbons.
Despite the fact that red is the colour of FA Cup sponsor Emirates, Chelsea fans interpreted the presence of the crimson trim as a conspiracy in favour of Liverpool.

Someone else said: “I honestly think this FA cup is already rigged for LiVArpool There’s been a lot of them red ribbons around it.”
Another user jumped on recent statements from Thomas Tuchel and Pep Guardiola citing a Liverpool prejudice in the UK and added: “Red ribbons!! Pep and tuchel were right all along.”
Speaking after City’s 5-0 win over Newcastle last week, Guardiola said: “Everyone in this country supports Liverpool, the media and everyone.
“Of course because Liverpool has an incredible history in European competition. Not in the Premier League, because they have won one in 30 years, but it is not a problem at all.”
“Liverpool are alongside [Manchester] United as the most important team in terms of titles, legacy, history, dramas for many, many things.”

Tuchel empathized with Guardiola at his press talk ahead of the FA Cup final.
“I can understand why he made it,” he said. “I can understand why he has that feeling. In general, I would say it is hard to really argue with it. I believe I can understand what he meant.
“There are huge sympathies for Liverpool. I feel that as well, in the whole country. If you fight against it, like Pep, for many, many years, I can understand the comment that it feels sometimes like this. But at the same time, I don’t think it’s only here. It’s in Germany like this and in France, too.”
It is not the first time this season that fans have expressed dissatisfaction with the colour of the FA Cup ribbons.
Leicester City fans complained about the presence of red material on the trophy’s ears before their game against Hull City in January.
The holders’ colours generally remain on the FA Cup until a new side wins it, but the Foxes’ traditional blue and gold colours were nowhere to be found on the renowned old cup.
