Exposed: What Mohamed Salah did at 2am with two Liverpool team-mates after Benfica victory
Mohamed Salah is well-known for diving into a pool in the early hours of the morning after playing for Liverpool in an evening kick-off, but this time he was joined in Lisbon by Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson.
Liverpool brought a 3-1 advantage back to Anfield after the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Benfica on Tuesday night, thanks to goals from Ibrahima Konate, Sadio Mane, and Luis Diaz.
Darwin Nunez scored in the second half to give Benfica hope for the return leg.
This will take place next Wednesday (April 13). But first and foremost, Jurgen Klopp’s men face a crucial Premier League game on Sunday when they travel to the Etihad Stadium to face Premier League leaders Manchester City.
A win for Liverpool would put them two points ahead of their rivals in the Premier League.
Salah, Alexander-Arnold, and Robertson are all expected to play significant roles in Sunday’s dramatic title fight against City, and recovery will be critical considering the short turnarounds between games.

The Reds will play at least eight games in April as they attempt to complete an unprecedented Quadruple.
Alexander-Arnold started in Lisbon for the first time since hurting his hamstring against Arsenal last month, while Salah was substituted around the hour mark as Liverpool manager Klopp sought to regain control of the game following Nunez’s goal.
Liverpool are in the midst of a rigorous schedule and might end up in the semi-finals of the Champions League, at the top of the Premier League, and in the FA Cup final.
They will play City again after the second leg against Benfica, but this time in the FA Cup semi-finals on Saturday, April 16.
