“Everyone should know” – Kai Havertz breaks silence on his best position on the pitch
Kai Havertz’s career as a Chelsea forward has been a mixed bag thus far.
To say the least, he’s been inconsistent.
While the German international has had many good stretches and scored some great goals, most notably the goal he scored to help Chelsea win the Champions League recently, he has not yet done enough to be considered to be having a successful career in English football.
Could he now, after three years at the club, prove his worth and become the player we all anticipated and hoped he would be?
The Evening Standard cited a late-night interview with Havertz in which he discussed his preferred position.
Havertz said: “After three years [at Chelsea], everyone should know by now what I can do, that I’m flexible up front and I can play a lot of different positions.
“Of course, sometimes it’s good to play in different positions and sometimes it’s bad, but in general I’m an offensive player. I like to be in the box. I like to score goals. I like to arrive in the box often and I don’t care if I’m there as a no9 or a no10. If I’m in the box, I’m there to score goals and that’s it.”
Honestly, his response is a bit all over the place, and he summarizes it by saying that sometimes it’s good and sometimes it’s bad!
