“Everyone in the public can see” – Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling shares what people are saying about Arsenal as Sunday’s prediction made
Raheem Sterling of Chelsea has praised Premier League leaders Arsenal for their outstanding start to the 2022-23 season.
The weekend 5-0 victory over Nottingham Forest propelled the Gunners to the top of the Premier League table, overtaking reigning champions Manchester City.
The club are now two points ahead of Pep Guardiola’s side with 31 points after 12 matches.
The Mikel Arteta-coached squad, which employs an attacking 4-2-3-1 formation, has garnered a great deal of attention this season despite losing points in only two games.
The north London club, which finished sixth last season, has also recorded impressive victories over Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.
Sterling praised the Gunners to Premier League Productions (via HITC) and called their style of play “beautiful.” He expanded:
“Everyone in the public can see that they have had a great start to the season. They are playing some beautiful stuff. They are a team that have been building for a few years now. Mikel [Arteta] has got them playing some free-flowing football, that’s for sure.”
Chelsea, on the other hand, is presently sixth in the rankings with 21 points from 12 games following a 4-1 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion.
Sterling shared his evaluation of the Blues’ Premier League home match versus Arsenal on Sunday, November 6. He added:
“That’s what we are looking to do, to keep building and it’s a game that will be a really interesting one. They are a possession-dominant team, and so are we ourselves. I think it will be a good match.”
Before the London derby, both clubs are scheduled to conclude their separate European games. Arsenal will play FC Zurich in the UEFA Europa League the day after Chelsea hosts Dinamo Zagreb in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday (2 November).
Ian Wright delivers bold prediction for upcoming Chelsea-Arsenal showdown
Arsenal great Ian Wright told Premier League Productions (via HITC) that the Gunners will defeat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League next Sunday. He said:
“It’s the way that they played, it was so disorganised. I know they have lost one in ten. The way they played the other day, that’s not good form if you look at the teams that are coming. If he doesn’t make them more solid, then I think it will happen again.”
Wright predicted that his previous club will defeat their city rivals if Blues manager Graham Potter does not make adjustments to his struggling system. He added:
“He has got the players to do that – why it’s still a tough game for Arsenal is because if Chelsea change that, then they are playing in a London derby, at home, then the visitors are going to be properly tested. If they don’t, then Arsenal will beat them.”
