Everton could demand three Chelsea players as a makeweight for Richarlison

Richarlison has been linked with a summer exit from Everton, with Chelsea reportedly interested.

He was the scourge of Chelsea in what turned out to be a pivotal victory in Everton’s Premier League survival fight.

With that in mind, it’s not surprising that Richarlison has been linked with a summer move to Stamford Bridge.

The Brazilian was outstanding in the Toffees’ 1-0 defeat of Chelsea in April, and his performance may have convinced Thomas Tuchel to increase his interest.

Indeed, Richarlison’s future at Goodison Park is unknown during the summer transfer window.

The forward has been with Everton for three years and is a fan favourite.

However, he has acknowledged to discussing his future with Toffees manager Frank Lampard and may want to go on to play Champions League football, which he desires.

According to the The Daily Mail, Everton will seek more than £50 million, with Arsenal and Tottenham also interested.

What if, instead, Lampard requested that a cash-plus player or a Chelsea player join his side on loan as part of the deal?

Here’s a look at who might be available for Everton.

Christin Pulisic

Lampard once had to explain himself after comments made by now-Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch against Pulisic.

Marsch, who was then in charge of Red Bull Salzburg, stated that Lampard did not rate him because of his nationality.

Although Lampard did not sign Pulisic for Chelsea, the two arrived in the same summer.

Pulisic was signed for £57.6 million from Borussia Dortmund in January 2019 before being loaned back for the remainder of the season, and some argue that he has yet to justify such a high price tag.

He made only 13 Premier League starts and nine substitute appearances for Chelsea last season.

With reports that the Londoners are also interested in Raheem Sterling, Pulisic may fall even more out of favour.

Everton are missing a right winger with Andros Townsend out for several months due to an ACL injury.

A year of regular playing could be just what Pulisic needs to kickstart his Premier League career.

Americans have a good record at Goodison Park as well.

Callum Hudson-Odoi

Hudson-Odoi was always considered the next big thing.

Bayern Munich expressed strong interest in the winger, but Chelsea turned down two bids in successive transfer windows.

Lampard was present at Stamford Bridge for the second offer and insisted Hudson-Odoi would become a world-class player before agreeing to a new contract.

However, three years later, the England international has yet to reach his full potential.

Hudson-Odoi made only 28 appearances across all competitions in 2021-22, owing to injury, which kept him out for the final three months.

However, the 21-year-old did register three goals and six assists, which was a respectable performance.

Given his previous comments, Lampard clearly rated Hudson-Odoi and could help get his bright career back on track.

Conor Gallagher

A significant number of Evertonians are keen for the club to sign a midfielder.

And Gallagher would be on the top of their wish list.

The 22-year-old did not emerge from nowhere like Mason Mount or Billy Gilmour.

Instead, he went on loan to Charlton Athletic, Swansea City, and West Bromwich Albion in the Football League.

He made everyone in Crystal Palace sit up and take notice last term.

Gallagher had an excellent eight goals and five assists in 38 appearances for the Eagles, earning him a spot in England’s senior squad.

Tuchel is expected to want to test Gallagher in pre-season, despite the fact that he has been linked with Everton.

Many supporters would take him on loan if he was available early in the summer.
