Erling Haaland’s agent plans for Manchester City departure
The representative of Erling Haaland has stated that they are preparing for the striker’s departure from Manchester City, thus paving the way for a potential transfer to Real Madrid, which is his desired move.
Haaland, who joined City for a fee of £51 million in the previous summer, has had an impressive debut season with the Premier League champions. He has scored 33 goals in 33 matches, with 27 of them in the Premier League. This is a record for the most goals scored by a Manchester City player in a single Premier League season.
Despite Erling Haaland’s impressive performance at Manchester City, it seems that plans have already been made for his future. Haaland’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta, has revealed that it would be a dream come true for the 22-year-old striker to join Real Madrid.
According to Pimenta, Real Madrid has a unique allure that makes it challenging for players to resist. As such, Haaland appears to have his sights set on a move to the Spanish giants.
Speaking at FT Business of Football summit in London, she said: “There is the Premier League. And there is Real Madrid.
“Real Madrid has something of its own that makes it the Dreamland for the players. Madrid keeps this magic going. It doesn’t have the league competition but it does have the Champions League.”
After assuming the role of Haaland’s primary agent following Mino Raiola’s passing last year, the Brazilian lawyer expressed her fondness for strategizing players’ career paths. She verified that Haaland expressed a desire to join City and collaborate with Pep Guardiola, and that the Premier League is now appealing in and of itself, regardless of which clubs participate in it.
“In my agency we try to make a plan. We have to make a plan.” Pimenta added.
“We need to have a goal. Maybe we won’t achieve it but if don’t know where we’re going for sure we don’t get there.
“When we have a player, we make plans. Even if the player is 15 years old. We are planning out his career trajectory.
“When I started in this business, if I would say to a player ‘I’ll bring you to England’ the first thing they would say would be ‘what did I do wrong? Why don’t you like me?
“But now, if I ask a player ‘what is your goal?’ he will say the Premier League. He doesn’t say City, Chelsea or Arsenal but the Premier League.
“This is the first time in 25 years that I hear so many players say I want to go to a league, not to a club. This is the place to be for an agent.
“An agent needs to be where a player wants to be. It’s a fantastic league. It’s so competitive, every game is a challenge, everyone wants to watch it.”
Although Haaland joined City just last summer, there have been rumors that his contract includes a clause allowing him to move to Real Madrid in 2024. However, Guardiola has denied the existence of such a clause.
Additionally, Haaland’s father, Alf-Inge Haaland, who is a former Man City midfielder, stated earlier this season that his son is expected to stay in England for two to three years before seeking a new challenge in another European league.
