Erling Haaland makes almost £1million a week at City as details emerge
Erling Haaland has taken the football world by storm since his £51 million move to Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund last summer, scoring 19 goals in 12 games.
According to the Mail, the star striker appears to be well compensated by the reigning Premier League champions, who pay him £865,000 per week.
According to reports, the Norway international is paid a base salary comparable to other high-earning teammates.
However, a series of significant bonuses have resulted in his weekly wages becoming the highest paid player in the Premier League.
This isn’t entirely due to the 22-year- old’s current goal-scoring exploits.
However, the Norwegian receives that sum due to clauses relating to appearances and other guaranteed bonuses.
Haaland is already breaking records in the English Premier League, most recently on Sunday.
The ex-Red Bull Salzburg player became the first Premier League player to score a hat-trick in three consecutive home games.
The star forward scored three goals against Manchester United, propelling City to a 6-3 victory at the Etihad.
Haaland also contributed to the Citizens’ 5-0 win over Copenhagen in the Champions League at home on Wednesday.
The City manager, Pep Guardiola, wanted the centre-forward fresh for Saturday’s match against Southampton, so he replaced him at halftime.
