Erik ten Hag’s Man Utd frightening XI after transfer window shuts if they sign Antony and three more players

Manchester United  are still looking to add to their squad before the transfer window closes next week, with manager Erik ten Hag tipped to bring in Antony from his former club Ajax.

And SportsDias looks at the scary XI the Red Devils could field if they can sign the Brazil international and three other players.

Goalkeeper – De Gea

United are reportedly interested in signing Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp and have offered him a four-year contract at Old Trafford.

However, the 32-year-old Germany international would start his United career as David de Gea’s backup.

This comes after Dean Henderson was loaned out to Nottingham Forest for the season.

De Gea would thus keep his place between the posts, but he would need to cut down on his errors in order to keep Trapp out of the team.

Defence – Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Malacia

Ten Hag has already changed his defence this season, bringing in Lisandro Martinez from Ajax and Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord.

Martinez has started all three of his team’s matches this season and could continue to partner Raphael Varane at the heart of defence after Harry Maguire was rested for the Red Devils’ win over Liverpool on Monday.

Malacia made his United debut against Jurgen Klopp’s side after Luke Shaw was dropped following his side’s thrashing at the hands of Brentford.

After a solid performance against the Merseyside club, Malacia will be confident of retaining his place.

United are currently looking for a back-up right-back, and Barcelona’s Sergino Dest has been linked with a move to Old Trafford.

A move in that direction would expand Ten Hag’s options, but Diogo Dalot will fight to keep the shirt.

Midfield – Casemiro, De Jong, Fernandes

Ten Hag completed the signing of Casemiro last week after convincing club officials to pay £70 million to bring him in from Real Madrid. And the 30-year-old will start in the United midfield right away.

If United can finally get their hands on the Barcelona star, he could soon be lining up alongside Frenkie de Jong.

De Jong has been linked with a move to Old Trafford throughout the summer, but no agreement has been reached.

A midfield of Casemiro and De Jong, with Bruno Fernandes providing ammunition behind the front three, could completely transform Ten Hag’s side as they look to finish in the top four of the Premier League.

Forwards – Antony, Rashford, Sancho

Cristiano Ronaldo would almost certainly leave the club if Antony arrived at Old Trafford.

And the dynamic winger would be an immediate addition to the team, with his cutting edge in front of goal desperately needed in the north west.

The 22-year-old could play alongside Jadon Sancho in the United attack, with Marcus Rashford leading the line as he attempts to regain his form. Anthony Martial would then be one of the primary substitute options.
