Erik ten Hag’s four Man Utd coaching options after Robin van Persie refuse role
Erik ten Hag is said to be interested in bringing in a former Manchester United player to help coach players at Old Trafford.
The 52-year-old is set to succeed Ralf Rangnick at the end of the season. Robin van Persie, on the other hand, appears unlikely to join him at the Premier League heavyweights.
According to rumors, Ten Hag wants someone with United knowledge to assist him acclimatize to life at Old Trafford.
Van Persie was in contention for a time, but the Feyenoord coach is now set to stay in the Netherlands due to family obligations.
According to reports, Wayne Rooney, Ryan Giggs, and Paul Scholes have all declined to join Ten Hag’s coaching staff.
Steve McClaren, who worked with Ten Hag at FC Twente, is also not expected to play a part.
As a result, Sports Dias will now look at four ex-players who could return to the coaching ranks in this new age.
Jaap Stam
Former United defender Jaap Stam recently stated that he would love to return to the club and would accept ‘any job.’

“In principle, I am open to any role at Manchester United,” Stam told Voetbal Primeur. “I have enjoyed working and living there, and I owe a lot to the club.
“If I can help Manchester United in any way, I’m open to it, provided it’s in a role that suits me.”
After departing FC Cincinnati in September, Stam is now a free agent.
And it may make him an intriguing prospect for Manchester United, where he won three consecutive league titles during his playing career.
Rene Meulensteen
Rene Meulensteen is also rumored to be returning to United.

He is presently serving as an assistant manager for the Australia national team.
However, as a Dutchman with United expertise, the 58-year-old is clearly someone worth Ten Hag’s consideration.
When Sir Alex Ferguson was in charge, Meulensteen was well praised for the way he worked with the Red Devils.
And, with United aiming to reclaim their former grandeur, the former Fulham manager could be a wise choice.
Henrik Larsson
Henrik Larsson is another unrestricted free agent.

He previously spent three months on loan at United after arriving in January 2007, where he quickly became a fan favorite.
Larsson has spent the last few years furthering his football education in preparation for a high job elsewhere.
United, on the other hand, may be able to make him an offer right now.
Larsson’s expertise and reputation as a footballing great may earn him the respect of players who haven’t always seemed to be having fun this season.
Roy Keane
Roy Keane, who recently missed out on the Sunderland position, would like to return to coaching or management one day.

Yes, he has been very critical of United in recent years.
But nothing he’s said or done has gone too far. It’s constructive critique, not gratuitous insults.
Keane might ruffle feathers, but let’s be honest: they probably do. But how he’d collaborate with Ten Hag is debatable.
