Erik ten Hag preparing to sell six Man Utd players including Anthony Martial in a cruel clear-out
According to reports, Erik ten Hag is planning to sell six Manchester United players at the end of the season, including Harry Maguire and Anthony Martial.
United bolstered its roster with the loan signings of Wout Weghorst and Marcel Sabitzer from Bayern Munich on the final day of the January transfer window.
According to the Daily Mirror, Ten Hag told United’s hierarchy last year that he needed up to three summer transfer windows to revamp his United squad, and the Dutchman is prepared to make significant changes following the conclusion of the current campaign.
According to the report, Maguire, Martial, Scott McTominay, Donny van de Beek, Eric Bailly, and Alex Telles will all be permitted to sign permanent deals away from Old Trafford.
United is presumed to believe that this summer is the ideal time to cash in on Maguire, while the centre-back is eager to secure regular playing time after losing his starting position this season.
Meanwhile, Martial has struggled with injuries this season and has only started six Premier League games so far.
McTominay is another player who has seen reduced playing time under Ten Hag, as the United manager has paired Casemiro and Christian Eriksen to form a formidable midfield duo.
Van de Beek, who joined United from Ajax for £40 million in 2020, has played just 166 minutes in the Premier League this season and is currently sidelined with a knee injury.
Telles and Bailly were both loaned out last summer, and United will attempt to sell them this summer.
