Erik ten Hag ‘makes Chelsea outcast his No1 transfer priority as Antony alternative but Man Utd BLOCK deal’
Between 2017 and 2020, the 52-year-old Moroccan manager at Ajax had great success.
Ziyech then moved to Chelsea for a fee of £37 million, but he is now available for transfer just two years later.
Raheem Sterling’s arrival at Stamford Bridge has reportedly rendered Ziyech, 29, surplus to requirements.
According to French journalist Nabil Djellit, Ten Hag’s transfer “priorities” this month include Ziyech.
In 2019, the attacking midfielder assisted the Dutchman in winning the league and cup double, as well as reaching the Champions League semi-finals.
However, Djellit adds that Ziyech is not universally adored at Old Trafford.
Some United executives are opposed to the signing, with the club sensationally BLOCKING a deal – against the wishes of their new manager.
Ziyech would be a viable alternative to Brazilian Ajax winger Antony.
When he arrived at Ajax from Sao Paulo in 2020, the 22-year-old replaced the Chelsea star.
However, he has been priced out of a return to Old Trafford to follow his former boss.
The Eredivisie champions want £68 million for their attacking star.
United will not agree to a deal unless Ajax lowers their asking price… or unless Antony applies pressure by submitting a transfer request.
This summer, Ten Hag has brought Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez, and Christian Eriksen to Old Trafford, all of whom have Eredivisie experience.
He also wants Frenkie de Jong, but has so far been unsuccessful in luring his Dutch compatriot away from Barcelona.
United are looking for a forward to replace Cristiano Ronaldo, and have reportedly opened talks with RB Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko for £55 million.
