Erik ten Hag has pinned up three rules Man Utd players must observe in dressing room
Red Devils midfielder Fred has since revealed that Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has three clear rules that all of his players must follow.
The Brazilian international explained why he believes Ten Hag’s principles have been crucial to United’s turnaround this season.
The Dutchman got off to a sluggish start as manager, but has since transformed the Red Devils into a team poised to qualify for the Champions League.
Ten Hag has also led United to their first major final since 2021, with the Carabao Cup’s championship game against Newcastle scheduled for later this month at Wembley. Since his arrival, the former Ajax manager has made it clear that he is not tolerant of fools.
The day after the humiliating 4-0 loss to Brentford in August, the United manager made his players run an additional 13 kilometers in training – the same distance the Bees outran his team by during the game.
The United manager is also said to have altered the club’s dress code, meal times, and prohibited the use of mobile phones in certain areas of the training facility.
Fred has recently revealed the three rules that Ten Hag has posted on the dressing room walls as a reminder for every United player.
Speaking to the Times, the Brazilian international explained: “He has put rules [up] inside the dressing room.
“Don’t be late, don’t do wrong things, always do what you can to help your partner – and that’s important.”
Judging by the upturn in United’s recent fortunes, it would appear that Ten Hag’s method of messaging and management style is clearly having the desired effect on his squad.
Vice-captain Bruno Fernandes also waxed lyrical about his boss after United booked their place in the Carabao Cup final earlier this week.
The recent turnaround in United’s fortunes suggests that Ten Hag’s messaging strategy and management style are having the desired effect on his team.
United clinched a spot in the Carabao Cup final earlier this week, and vice-captain Bruno Fernandes gushed about his manager.
“I think last year was about confidence,” the Portugal international explained. “You win one game, you lost another one, you draw another one – you never get that run of victories that gave you the confidence to keep going and keep pushing yourself to do the best.
“We had a bad feeling that any moment of the game could go against us – a corner, a shot, some moment. The confidence was low and that creates uncertainty but obviously I think this season the main thing was the results. You get more confident.
“The idea of the manager is on the team, you can see it. The players that came to the club are also making a part of that but the ones that stayed are also playing and making a part of that too.”
