Erik ten Hag delivers an irate reply after being asked over Manchester United’s job
When asked about his links to the Manchester United manager’s post, Erik ten Hag responded aggressively.
Ten Hag appears to be on the verge of being appointed as United’s new permanent manager ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Ajax manager emerged as United’s favourite candidate earlier this year, having been a frontrunner since the resignation of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in November.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Ajax now expects the 52-year-old to be appointed as United’s new manager.
Ten Hag has already been interviewed by the club as they prepare to hire him.
United say that they have not made a final decision on a manager at this time.
They do, however, plan to make their appointment before the end of the season.
Ten Hag has remained tight-lipped about his links to the job so far, though he has hinted that he may be looking for a change at the end of the season.
He has been confronted with numerous concerns about his future, particularly in light of recent developments in United’s hunt.
The Dutchman was asked additional questions regarding the United job ahead of Ajax’s match against Sparta Rotterdam on Saturday evening.
Ten Hag, on the other hand, was not in the mood to talk about a possible move to Old Trafford.
“We are busy with training and with the matches,” Ten Hag told ESPN. “That way you keep the focus on it.
“I want to talk about the game and not about other things and whether or not I’ve had conversations. I won’t comment on rumours.”
Ten Hag angrily added: “Questions about the game or I am going inside.”
Ten Hag’s statement comes amid accusations that English-language media were barred from attending Ten Hag’s most recent press conference.
Despite Ajax’s precautions, it appears that their boss will not be able to dodge queries about United for long.
