Erik Ten Hag breaks silence on Antony’s chances of featuring against Arsenal

On Sunday,  Manchester United will host their rivals Arsenal at Old Trafford.

United couldn’t have selected a better moment to meet the Gunners, who are unbeaten in their opening five Premier League games and leading the standings.

Mikel Arteta must find a method to efficiently manage his team despite suffering from a number of crucial injuries.

It won’t be easy, however, as goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale is questionable and midfielders Martin Odegaard, Thomas Partey, and Mohamed Elneny are all injured.

Manager Erik ten Hag will have to decide whether or not new acquisition Antony will make his debut when it comes to the Red Devils’ selection dilemmas.

Following his £85 million transfer from Ajax earlier this week, fans are understandably excited to see the 22-year-old Brazilian in action.

Antony may need some time to come up to speed, since he missed Ajax’s last three matches after ruling himself out in a bid to force a move to Old Trafford.

Regarding the winger’s prospects of playing on Sunday, ten Hag told reporters on Friday, as reported by MEN:

“Today he did his first training, individual. Tomorrow we have a team session and on Saturday we have a team session. I’ll think about it and we’ll take a decision.

“Casemiro is an option but I also have to think over (it).”
