Reports suggest that Arsenal, who are currently at the top of the Premier League despite a recent 4-1 loss to Manchester City, have chosen a list of four midfielders for potential signings during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Even if they don’t win the league title, Arsenal have secured a spot in the Champions League for next season, which will likely make it easier for them to attract high-quality players.

Under the guidance of Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu, the Gunners have made good signings in recent transfer windows and have been improving steadily under Arteta’s leadership, despite the setback against Manchester City.

Arsenal supporters are hoping for a new midfielder to improve the squad and it seems that the club has a shortlist of four midfielders for the summer transfer window. David Ornstein, a journalist for The Athletic, has revealed that the four players on technical director Edu’s list are Declan Rice from West Ham, Moises Caicedo from Brighton, Mason Mount from Chelsea, and Mohammed Kudus from Ajax.

Ornstein expects that Arsenal will sign two of the four players, but he doubts that Rice and Caicedo will be signed together due to the cost involved.

The journalist suggests that Arteta is keen on making a prominent signing in midfield to strengthen the squad, and many Arsenal fans are eager to know which direction the club will take.

“We know the interest in Declan Rice is strong. We knew the interest in Moises Caicedo was strong. I don’t know which way they’ll go, or if there are other options.

“I don’t think they would go for both given the costs involved. Let’s see, because those clubs have to be willing sellers.”

According to the Spanish publication Nacional, Arsenal is interested in signing Lois Openda, a striker from Lens who has been dubbed the “new Mbappe.”

The Gunners are reportedly looking to strengthen their squad in multiple areas, including up front, and have identified Openda as a target.

The Belgian has scored 17 goals and provided three assists in 36 Ligue 1 matches and is valued at £31m.

Openda has been compared to Kylian Mbappe because of his impressive power and speed, and Arsenal is said to want to make him one of their first signings of the summer transfer window.
