Eduardo Camavinga issues Arsenal transfer hint despite Carlo Ancelotti’s bold Real Madrid admission
In their pursuit of Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga, Arsenal have suffered a major setback.
The Gunners were interested in loaning the French midfielder until the end of the season, but based on comments made by the player’s agent and Carlo Ancelotti, it appears that this will not occur.
The Gunners must acquire a midfielder to improve their depth in the center of the field. Camavinga was an excellent option for Mikel Arteta due to his previous Champions League victory.
Despite an initial setback in Arsenal’s rumored pursuit of the midfielder, the France international hinted via social media that a deal should be attempted with Edu.
Camavinga’s agent, Joshua Barnett, has now stated that reports linking his client with a move to the Emirates Stadium contain “no truth.” Barnett told transfer guru Fabrizio Romano: “There’s no truth.
“Of course every club in the world would want him. He’s very happy in Real Madrid and Real Madrid are very happy with Camavinga.”
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti echoed these sentiments when he stated: “He is untouchable. Like [Luka] Modric and like [Toni] Kroos.”
Camavinga himself sent a transfer hint by liking an Instagram post that mentioned he was linked with a move to Arsenal, despite the denial of a transfer.
Camavinga joined Real Madrid in the same summer that Odegaard left the club for Rennes, but he has struggled for playing time since his £27.7 million transfer. According to the Evening Standard, this led to links with Arsenal this January.
It is a possibility that the Gunners could explore. However, given Ancelotti’s importance to the team, it may be difficult to cross the finish line.
