Eden Hazard reacts to Carlo Ancelotti remarks amid Chelsea transfer links.
Eden Hazard has reacted to his new Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti amid transfer reports linking him with an exit this summer.
The Belgian has had a tough time of things since making his move to Real Madrid for more than £100million from Chelsea in 2019, fumbling more than 60 matches through injury and only managing four goals in 30 La Liga appearances so far.
Amid that bad form, Hazard has been associated with a return to Chelsea this summer, but Ancelotti was apparent that he is delighted to have the winger on board after being appointed as Zinedine Zidane’s replacement at the Santiago Bernabeu this week.
He said: “Eden Hazard? He’s a top player, he’ll show his skills. Hazard and Bale can be so important for us.”
Hazard has now replied to that with his views on the Ancelotti appointment, pointing to the Italian’s first spell with the club – between 2013 and 2015 – when he ended Real Madrid’s long wait for ‘La Decima’, their 10th Champions League title.

“Everyone in Madrid knows what Ancelotti gave the club in the past,” said Hazard to RTBF during international duty.
“He won the Champions League with this group and knows many players. We know he is a very experienced coach and he knows the city and the fanbase. I think we can achieve great things together.
“(He is) a very friendly person who just wants to win. “That’s what we all want, we will have the chance to work together, it’s good for me.”
Pondering on his first two years with Real Madrid, Hazard continued:
“We all know that my first years there were bad. Now I have to think about the Euro and then be in perfect condition for next year.”
Hazard returned to full fitness in the back end of the season as Real Madrid took the La Liga title race to the final day of the season before missing out to Atletico Madrid, and he now heads into Euro 2020 with Belgium completely fit and ready to star.
