‘Eating like a bear’ …. A look at Erling Haaland’s 6,000-calorie daily diet

‘Eating like a bear’ …. A look at Erling Haaland’s 6,000-calorie daily diet

Erling Haaland has revealed the secrets of his 6,000-calorie-a-day diet, which has helped him become Europe’s most prolific goalscorer.

The Manchester City striker enjoys eating heart and liver from his local butcher, which he washes down with filtered water.

Haaland scored his 20th goal of the season in City’s 4-0 win over Southampton on Saturday, and he will look to add to that total when City face Copenhagen in the Champions League at the Parken Stadion tonight.

No player in Premier League history has scored 15 goals in the competition faster than Haaland, who did so in just nine games.

In a recently released documentary, Haaland reveals the eye-catching diet that is propelling him to new heights.

‘Haaland: The Big Decision’, charting his career and £51 million (€58m) summer move to City from Borussia Dortmund.

“You (other people) don’t eat this, but I am concerned with taking care of my body,” Haaland said whilst showing off huge chunks of heart and liver from his butcher.

“I think eating quality food that is as local as possible is the most important thing. People say meat is bad for you but which? The meat you get at McDonald’s? Or the local cow eating grass right over there? I eat the heart and the liver.”

Haaland, who stands 6ft 5in and claims to consume 6,000 calories per day, also stated that he prefers to drink filtered water.

“The first thing I do in the morning is to get some sunlight in my eyes, it is good for circadian rhythm,” he said.

“I have also started to filtrate my water a bit. I think it can have great benefits for my body.”

Haaland’s preferences do not stop with the heart and liver. Following his third consecutive Premier League hat-trick against Manchester United at the Etihad, the 22-year-old revealed that his father Alfie had been serving him lasagne before games.

“I’ve had it before every home game now and that turns out fairly well, so there has to be something special he adds to it,” he said. “I help out very little. I mostly lie on the couch watching him (cook). That’s the way it works.”

Haaland has previously stated that he enjoys kebab meat, as well as the duck and sweet and sour chicken from a Chinese restaurant called Wen Hua House in his hometown of Bryne, Norway.

Teammate from Norway According to Joshua King, he has never seen anyone eat as much as Haaland.

“He’s just a freak,” King said. “I’ve never, ever seen anyone eat as much as he does. He’s shredded but I don’t know . . . he just eats like a bear.”
