‘Don’t talk’: Thierry Henry sends message to Mo Salah after another night to forget following his “revenge” statements

Thierry Henry told Mo Salah to ‘don’t talk’ before a final after Liverpool lost another Champions League final to Real Madrid on Saturday, according to CBS Sports.

Salah left the Champions League final in tears four years ago after hurting his shoulder in the first half of Liverpool’s match against Real Madrid.

When both teams qualified for this season’s final, Egypt’s star stated unequivocally that he desired “revenge” for that dreadful evening in Kyiv.

Salah had another night to forget against the now-14-time European champions, this time in Paris, with Salah playing the full game but failing to break through Thibaut Courtois’ Belgian wall.

After the game, Henry lauded Madrid’s efforts while blasting Salah for his statements leading up to the game.

“We have said it so many times, ‘it’s about putting the ball into the back of the net’,” said Henry. “They have one on target and they score.

“Liverpool had a lot. But they faced Thibaut Courtois. Remember what I said in the semi-final, people don’t give him the credit he deserves.

“He’s one of the best keepers in the world and better than Ederson. And he’s shown it tonight.

“I always say something, don’t talk before a final. Beat Real Madrid, then talk and say ‘it was revenge and all of that’. When you talk before a final, you have to win it.”

It’s simple: the Madrid fans will now utilise Salah’s statements before the game to mock him.

However, it is nice that athletes are so candid about such situations rather than the usual PR nonsense they discuss.

Everyone is aware that the two sides have mutual respect and that they are excellent teams.

Rather than hearing it repeated in multiple ways from both sides, Salah was simply honest in saying he wanted’revenge,’ and while that did not happen, he now has to deal with any stick that comes his way.
