‘Doing really well’: Ben White says Arsenal have a star in their ranks who all the boys love
During an interview with Stadium Astro, Arsenal defender Ben White discussed some of his Gunners teammates, saying that new recruit Takehiro Tomiyasu had made a great impression.
Tomiyasu joined from Bologna in the summer. The Gunners made a quick and audacious move, practically snatching him from under the noses of local rivals Tottenham.
Since then, the Japanese defender has made an immediate impact at full-back for the Gunners, establishing himself as a key member of the defense.
When asked about Tomiyasu’s impact at the club, colleague defender White claimed he had left an impression on everyone.
“Obviously, you’ve all seen how he’s performed when he’s playing for Arsenal. He’s such a nice guy,” White said of Tomiyasu.
“He fitted straight in when he came. All the boys love him and he’s doing the business on the pitch as well. Doing really well.”
Under Mikel Arteta, Tomiyasu has fit in perfectly. At times, his performances have gotten excellent reviews. The Gunners now have a set back four, with Kierney on the left flank, alongside White and Brazilian defender Gabriel.
When you consider the transfer window and some of the other fees that were spent and stated, Tomiyasu has to be considered one of the summer’s best buys.
For a player of this caliber, less than £20 million sounds like a steal. His speed, ferocity, and overall game have allowed him to easily adapt to life in the English game.
For Arsenal fans’ sake, let’s hope he continues to improve and contribute like he has recently.
