‘Doesn’t rate him’ – An pundit catches Haaland giving a “dirty look” to a Manchester City player

‘Doesn’t rate him’ – An pundit catches Haaland giving a “dirty look” to a Manchester City player

Julian Alvarez of Manchester City will conclude that his teammate Erling Haaland ‘doesn’t rate him’ after giving him a filthy look during the weekend loss.

This is the opinion of former Premier League forward Noel Whelan. He discussed Haaland’s performance and City’s performance at the Etihad Stadium with Football Insider.

The Norwegian has already scored 18 goals in the Premier League this season. Haaland has had a series of outstanding performances this season, including a hat-trick against Manchester United for which Sofascore awarded him a  10/10 score.

However, this past weekend, City lost 2-1 to Brentford at the Etihad. Whelan spoke about the fantastic chance for City to take the lead which saw Alvarez delay a pass to Haaland which went beyond him as he slid.

Whelan stated: “You could see how frustrated Haaland was.

“Just look at his face when Alvarez delayed the pass and then passed behind him.

“Talk about dirty looks! Alvarez will feel Haaland doesn’t rate him if he clocks that.

“It wasn’t Haaland’s best game and he will be upset, not just by the defeat, but also by not scoring.

“Those are the incredible standards he sets, although the whole City team were off it today. Brentford deserved their win.”

The loss to Brentford will have frustrated City’s players and boss Pep Guardiola, but the season still has a long way to go.

Arsenal leads Manchester City by five points, and the two teams have yet to meet this season. Despite their shocking loss, City’s destiny for the title remains largely in their hands.
